The Canoe Restaurant in Atlanta, GA was voted by
the James Beard Foundation as one of the "Best New Restaurants" in
the United States. The Canoe Restaurant in Atlanta is on the
Chattahoochee River in the historic Vinings area. Reservations are
usually needed, at least on weekend evenings. The view of the
river is amazing and the atmosphere is elegant. The ceiling looks like
the inside of a canoe, and you can see the kitchen from the dining area, all
done in a very classy way. The chef is Gary Mennie, who creates a new
menu several times a year.

dining as well as weddings and wedding receptions (reservations needed far
ahead of time). The Canoe
Restaurant has won many awards, such as the Mobil 4 Star Award and it's been
written up in many magazines, including "Gourmet", "Bone
Appetit", and "The Wine Spectator".
