The La Grotta Restaurant in Atlanta was voted the best Italian restaurant in town 15 years in a row.  Very old-school, it focuses on Northern Italian food, inspired by traditional recipes.  Gold walls with burgundy fabric, it's a classy place.  Very sophisticated, people come back year after year because they keep making innovative dishes.  

This four-star Italian restaurant has amazing pasta, fish, and meat, but La Grotta Restaurant in Atlanta has great vegetarian and cholesterol-free entrees, too.Try the tartuffo ice cream, or the lemon veal, or one of the hard-to-find Italian wines.  The grilled pears wiht prosciutto are great, as is the home made gnocchi.
